The Outreach and Services Specialist (OSS) plays a vital role in carrying out the mission of the Mayor’s Office of Community Relations and Services (MOCRS). Each specialist is responsible for setting in place strategies and developing activities which target the District’s community base for specific purposes, goals, and objectives. The specialists attend community meetings to gather information on community input, events, issues and their impact to the District.

 

Additionally, the OSS works directly with the community to identify, address, and permanently solve persistent problems in every ward of the District. Citizens can access their Core Team through their ward OSS who leads the Core Team and holds agencies accountable for work that is to be performed according to work plans. There are two Outreach and Services Specialists per ward.

 

Through the use of Outreach and Services Specialists, the MOCRS seeks to mobilize, reclaim, revitalize, and sustain healthy and vibrant neighborhoods throughout DC.
